nüRoute Technology with trafficTrends and myTrends

This uniquely personal navigator comes with advanced routing capabilities that include trafficTrends and myTrends. There's no subscription necessary and no added costs; your nüvi 3750 just does it.

With trafficTrends, your nüvi 3750 automatically learns daytime trends for traffic flow to improve your routes and better predict your estimated time of arrival based on time of day and day of week. And you get free trafficTrends updates every time you connect your device to myGarmin.

With myTrends, when you save your regular destinations in your "Favorites," your nüvi 3750 will, over time, begin to figure out where you're going even without your telling it! It provides time of arrival and relevant traffic information.

The Garmin 3750 is a perfect choice if you are not interested in all the extras.  It has a beautiful large display, the 3D zooms in and out smoothly and is very light and thin. It'll remind you of an IPod Touch with a crystal clear display and no glare, even in the sun. At night it changes to a night color theme automatically.

On the main screen it simply asks "Where to?" and "View map".  The "Where to"  gives a number of icons: Address, Go Home, POIs, Recently Found, Favorites, Parking, Intersection, Extras, Cities, Trip Planner, Browse Map and Coordinates.

Address: type where you want to go

Go Home: after you tell it where home is, tap this icon to automatically set your course for home.

POIs,point of interest: These are your shopping, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, banks, ATMs, entertainment, hospitals, auto rentals, auto repair, car wash, rest areas, tourist info, landmarks, theme parks, museums, zoos etc...

Recently found: after you type an address or POI and told it to locate it on the map, that search will be put into this folder.

Favorites:  Once you store your favorite places you won't have to retype in these addresses or names.

Parking:  Find areas to park your car and find your car

Intersection: Find a place by putting in a street and cross street

Extras: options you've added to gps goes here

Cities: surrounding cities and towns

Trip Planner:  For multiple stops you can get a planned route optimized  for the best order and the shortest trip.

Browse Map: Brings up the map

Coordinates:  Shows where you are in latitude and longitude

On the Main Screen the second icon is View Map, this will show as you drive and you can choose to see which direction your going, elevation, current time, your speed and the speed limit for the road you are on.

A common set up is to set distance to destination in miles, minutes and ETA (estimated time of arrival) and your current speed or mph.

Under the two major icons on the main screen, there are four smaller icons: Stop (cancels the set course), Detour (detours around a set path), Volume and Tools.

Tools: Here you have- Settings, Where Am I, Help, ecoRoute, Picture Viewer, World Clock, Alarm Clock, Calculator and Unit converter.

Settings: set how your nuvi works or k/m, 12 or 24 hour clock, map detail, display brightness, sleep modes and language.

Where Am I: lets you know the closest address and intersection. Three other icons here - Police, Hospitals and Fuel. Good for emergency services if needed.

Help: User manual

ecoRoute: find  your fuel efficiency route

My Trends: Routine routing-pops up and asks you if you want to select your route to work in the morning or work to home at that time of day.

Picture Viewer: upload your photos to this section

World Clock: your local time and 3 other places

Alarm Clock, Calculator and Unit Converter- easy to figure out

Reasons to choose the Garmin 3750 Nuvi

  •      The 3700 series is the first to use historical road speed data in calculating routes, which should result in improved routing, especially in areas with routine traffic problems.
  •     One of the best features is the charging is done from the base, so no more plugging and unplugging when you want to take the unit with you. Just pop it out of the base and take it with you.
  •     Mapping is fantastic and it zooms in and out as you near an exit or intersection for a turn with perfect clarity and zooms or pans back out to show the next part of the route and the exact amount you would need.
  •     Very easy data entry through the touch screen.
  •     Full satelite aquisiton start up at about 3-5 seconds and usually 30 seconds in motion.
  •     Lane Assist and lane indicator make this gps a pleasure to use.
  •     New built-in accelerometer: allowing display to rotate and be viewed in portrait or landscape mode (looking out a windshield or down from above)
  •     Garmin 3750 series will learn your preferred route once you have deviated from a suggested route a few times. It also takes into account your driving habits when calculating your ETA.
  •     You can easily find your latitude and longitude, nearest address, nearest intersection and nearest location of emergency services.

10 Tips For The Garmin 3750 Nuvi

  1.     Avoid common problems setting your home address; as with houses in subdivisions built so close together, using your current location can result in being directed down a nearby street and not the one your driveway connects to....Select "Use my current location" option while at the intersection of your driveway and the street you live on - not at your garage.
  2.     You can subscribe to traffic with Garmin GTM 25 with Lifetime Traffic for the Garmin Nuvi 3750 rather than getting the free lifetime traffic with the Garmin 1350LMT which has ads popping up all the time, which can get annoying. (but they are small in the lower corner)
  3.     If you get a traffic receiver and subscribe to the traffic reports you can see the time delay (when there is a delay) by tapping the traffic icon and then tap the delays enroute selection to see the time added to your route.
  4.     When you first get your gps remember to register first online and update the software to avoid problems when you first use it. This update could take 4 hours so you may want to do it at night. Continue to check every other week for updates.
  5.     Does not come with the full manual, go the the Garmin site and download.
  6.     Zoom in by pinching or double-tapping
  7.     To get back to the main menu- Hold down the back button
  8.     Backup your favorites - connect the garmin 3750 nuvi to your computer and save the GPX/current.gpx file, you can also use this file to transfer favorites to a new unit
  9.     View in Google Earth or other mapping software:  if you have a nuvi with trip logs and enabled it you can download your track and view it in google earth or in mapping software.
  10.     Instead of the suction cup mount the Garmin Friction Mount is recommended. It's a lot easier to set the unit out of sight and it can continue charging while your doing errands. Plus it is a more stable mount with excellent user reviews.
  11.     If you continue your research check closely that you are reading the correct review for the right model as the larger sites group many models together.
