nüvi 3760LMT has an intuitive interface that greets you with two simple questions: "Where To?" and "View Map." Touch the color screen to easily look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination. It comes preloaded with detailed City Navigator NT street maps for the U.S, Canada and Mexico with nearly 6 million points of interest (POIs) such as stores, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, gas stations, ATMs and more, and speed limits for most major roads.

Speak Commands

Tips For Using Garmin Nuvi 3790lmt

• When you get a new Garmin take it outside long enough to find the satellites, then connect it to your computer and run the Garmin Webupdater. When it tells you the software (not maps) is up to date-REINSTALL the software again, then update the maps. This will solve a lot of the delay in finding satellites, bad routing and even the rebooting problems some have had-maps take 4-6 hrs.
• Very important to update when you get it as if there were any problems Garmin makes an update to fix it. Check for updates every 2 weeks.
• no manual in the box- go to the Garmin site and download the PDF manual and read through it with your gps in hand to get to know all the great features.
• Push the on/off button and wait to hear the click and let go. To power off, you need to HOLD the power button down till you see a power off screen asking you to make a choice. Otherwise it goes into standby and when you push the on/off button to turn it on- you get a lock screen, then hit the lock icon and it comes to life. Standby mode uses up the battery so be aware.
• To get a map of all the satellites your unit is accessing and bar graph of the signal strength of each one, touch and hold the green signal strength bars on the upper left corner for about 10 seconds or more.
• If pop up ads bother you in the free traffic alerts -purchase the Lifetime Premium Traffic Service for a one time cost of $49 and you'll be ad free. OR replace the traffic power cable with a normal power cable and forget the traffic alerts altogether.
• Guard this one closely as it resembles an Iphone and thieves will be drawn to it. GPS's are the #1 stolen items from cars.
• This GPS is fast in finding addresses. So much that when typing in a city name it will pop to a screen with recommendations based on what you have typed so far and if you're not careful you will type the next letter but actually select a suggested city. Just back out by tapping the "goback" arrow.
• Map updates can delete Junction View.  JV has to be re-installed manually by downloading a file and mounting the GPS as a drive.
• The optional Garmin MapSource Trip and Waypoint Manager is a great way to enter your own waypoints for stuff that isn't in the nuvi database.
• For European Maps purchase the DVD Europe map from Garmin.  The DVD gives you the opportunity to use it on your computer as well as choose the areas of the map to transfer to your gps.  Set waypoints that can then be transferred from the computer to the gps (only waypoints not routes) then save as favorites in GPS.
• Turn off radio or music when giving voice commands, pick a simple phrase like "start" or "lets go" to wake up voice recognition. If problems with voice command wait for the command light to go from red to green before speaking again.

This GPS does what it is supposed to do and does it well. It's quick, sleak and has a great battery life and best of all a quick release mount so it can be quickly transferred from car to pocket and back with ease.
